SFChat-L
The Speculative Fiction discussion list

The Speculative Fiction (SFChat) list is a for discussion of craft and marketing issues related to speculative fiction. For list purposes, speculative fiction is defined as science fiction, fantasy and horror in all their sub-genres.

Discussions are welcome on these topics:

  • characters,
  • world building,
  • reviews of books and media related to SF,
  • questions and comments on science news, research into mythology/religion/whatever,
  • URLs of sites that might be of interest to other writers of SF, and
  • reports on panels, classes or conventions related to SF that you have attended.

SFChat is not a critique list, and posting original work for critique on this list is not allowed. There is one exception to this: in order to illustrate a point of discussion, it is permissible to post approximately 50 words of the original work.

To receive comments on your work, you may post an Offer and members can contact you privately to receive a copy to critique for you.
